The engraving process starts with the artwork.

Quality artwork is necessary to make a great looking gift.

We will explain how we use artwork to create the perfect gifts and how you can send us your artwork to get started.

Engraving done right
We have a great graphic team here at Art in the cellar. We convert all artwork on site and take the time to make sure it's done right.

Getting started

There are several things to consider for a custom engraved gift.

  • Theme - What will the gift be for? A holiday, Birthday, Wedding or anniversary?

  • Make it personal - Don't forget to add the recipient name(s) and dates.

  • Give it meaning - Happy 21st Birthday John, Congratulations on you're wedding day,  are some examples.

  • Make it pop  - Decorative frames and borders are great ways to make a great gift even greater!  We can help you in the design process to make it unique and special for the individual receiving it.

  • Who it's from  -  Let the individual know who the gift came from by adding your name at the bottom. Examples -  Love Kim, From the Gibsons.. Etc

There's a lot of different file formats that can be used for graphic artwork.  It can be confusing at times to know which format is the best for your particular artwork.  Not to worry, we can help you through the process to make sure your artwork looks great!

Here is a list showing all file formats available.

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file format that has captured all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image that you can view, navigate, print, or forward to someone else.

TIFF or TIF, is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and photographers. This type of file format is eve better then jpegs and will work great for the engraving process.

EPS file is a graphics file saved in the Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) file format. It may contain 2D vector graphics, bitmap images, and text. EPS files also include an embedded preview image in bitmap format.
